Guest guest
, I don't know how to describe my speech. I dont think you can say slurred it just doesn't come out right. I had an EEG done and the same morning b4 the test I had an extreme migrane all over my head. It was the kind that light or sound or any kind of movement just kills you. I had the EEG done with the migrane. That evening I started having problems with my speech. Then it got some better for a couple days and then it has gone down hills steadily after that. I am not always understood and I don't always correct someone when they didn't understand what I said. I just go along with whatever they thought I said and leave it at that. I also have times I can't remember even the simpliest of words. I will sit there and go into another world until I can think. Sometimes I completely forget what I am talking about when I am looking for the word to say. I wonder if I will even know it one day if someone puts me in a nursing home. I don't want that but if that is what happens then I will have to make the best of it. love and hugs, Belinda > > > Hi All. > > > > > > I've got another vision question. > > > > > > Bill, you don't have to worry about those siestas - seems they > come > > > on - on their own anymore. :-) > > > > > > Anyway, it was after one of those - when I woke up disoriented > > (which > > > was different in itself - because I usually know where I am - > when > > it > > > is - and all that jazz)... Guest guest
, Biting your tongue is a sign from God that you need speech therapy and exercises to give you back control of your tongue. Guest guest
/Belinda, I get the black dots on the ceiling when I first wake up as well. I don't know how long they last because I usually turn on to my side or get up. My main vision problem is anything I look at that is more than 30 yards in front of me bounces as I walk, probably only an inch or so perception wise up and down. As far as speech goes, I am accidently funny on occassions. For instance I might intend to say something like coke and fries and I say foke and cries. It is disconcerting and happens seemingly of it's own volition.I also seem to be asked to repeat myself more frequently, I don't know whether I am speaking softer or a little less intelligbly. Guest guest
ARE THE BLACK DOTS TINY AND STABLE OR DO THEY FLOAT?? MINE ARE PIN POINT AND DISAPPEAR EVENTUALLY. I JUST GO ON AND THINK SOMETHING ELSE, WHICH IS VERY DIFFICULT AT TIMES. I HAVE SIMILAR VISUAL PERCEPTION DIFFICULTIES. THE SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PROBLEM DRIVES ME WILD SOMETIMES. I AM A RETIRED SPEECH LANGUAGE PATH. AS FOR THE SPEECH VOLUME, I TOLD MY HUSBAND I SHOULD HAVE TRADEMARKED THE SAYING ON THE CELL COMMERCIAL--- 'CAN U HEAR ME? 'CAN U HEAR ME NOW?' SOMETIMES BY THE TIME I SAY THAT I HAVE TO TAKE A REST . I SLUR THE ENDINGS AND AND JUST DROP OF THE ENDINGS OF MY PHRASES ALSO. NANCY M. Guest guest
, The black dots I see are stable. I think the other sort of thing floating would be vitreous floaters which are quite common. Sometimes the speech thing makes me think I've got a mouthful of marbles and can't get my tongue around some words.
