Guest guest
What I mean by cruise control isn't that I'm 100%. Rather, I'm just sticking with the liquid diet and being careful not to over exert myself. In other words, I'm impatiently waiting to get back to my life as I knew it! The swelling is about 80% gone. But I still have a lot of numbness in my upper cheeks. I certainly don't sound normal because of the numbness in my upper lips. This is really the last hurdle I feel that I need to clear. Other than this everything else seems fine. When were you guys given the go-ahead to start chewing soft foods?
Guest guest
Marco, it's strange, I found out yesterday that I also have sort-of numbness in the right side of my upper lip. It's strange that I found out almost 2 weeks post op huh... I guess I didn't realize it because it's not completely numb. I did notice that I have trouble putting my upper lip together with my lower lip, when I do that, my mouth does not close the way it should. I assumed that when there is numbness or semi-numbness, your muscles are not affected, just the feeling of it. Sure hope this goes away... patience... Guest guest
Yes, ditto. My lips also do not meet in a relaxed state. I say my orthodontist today for the first time post op. She said that it may be the swelling or there may just be a little gap at rest. In other words, she doesn't know.
