Guest guest
Hi everyone, First I would like to thank Vera for answering my question a month ago. Sorry that I have not written before hand thanking you, but maybe you'll understand when I am through here. Here goes...... I got a sinus infection about a 6 weeks ago and it took me a while to get over it, much longer than normal. Then my mother had colon surgery in early July and was in the hospital for 3 weeks with that. I had to have friends and family to take me everywhere. Around this time I also had to go to my cardiologist. He ran an echocardiogram and a caroid echo. My heart rate was so high that he wanted and did get it under control before giving me a stress test. I got the chemical stress test since my walking is near none now. I have gone to a walker and w/c parttime. So....last week I started swelling, wide spread. I had my appt with my cardio yesterday. I was told that I am in early congestive heart failure and I have two blockages of arteries in the heart. I also have a mild (early stage) mitral and tricuspid valve prolaspe and aortic insuffiency. On Monday I am being admitted to the hospital to have a heart cath performed and if the blockage is there at all the cardio is going to do either the balloon or a stint, depending on the severity of the blockage. He did tell me that it was lucky that it was caught before I had a heart attack or stroke due to the fact that my cholesterol was 728 and my trigylecrites was 859 and that he was truely surprised that I had not had a heart attack or stroke yet. This has frightened me greatly, with all the other things going on, and I am not even 40 yet, but I have the body and organs of a much older person. Please keep me in your prayers, especially on Monday when I have to have the cath done. Thank you wanda __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Wanda, Be glad they caught it early enough to do something about it. They can give you medicine to lower your bad cholestrol and triglycerides. There are exercises you can do while sitting. So all in all, you are better off now that they know and can help you. ) I had a 90% blockage and they cut me from belly button to my neck. Took a vein out of my ankle and two arteries out of my chest and my heart is doing great 6 years later. It's when they don't find it until you have had a heart attack that you have the problem. Take care, Bill Werre > > > Date: 2002/08/22 Thu PM 08:05:42 CDT > To: shydrager > Subject: Update on Wanda and a request for prayers > > Hi everyone, > > First I would like to thank Vera for answering my > question a month ago. Guest guest
Wanda--Bill is right. It is good that they caught this in time. Hang in there. My dad had bypass surgery 20 years ago and then angioplasty 8 years ago and he is doing great. There is a lot you can do to help repair heart-related problems. Wish it were so with MSA.
