Guest guest
I have been having these crazy symptoms for about 7yrs, that have progressively gotten worse. When I stumbled onto this site I about fainted when I read all of the symptoms of this disease. I think that the reason that they haven't been able to diagnose me is because I haven't complained about the black-outs that I have when I stand up. Okay here are my symptoms fatigue, blurred vision, tremors, dizziness and black-outs when going from sitting to standing, very low blood pressure 90/55, low body temp., can't adjust to temp change hot or cold, always have cold hands and feet, irregular heart beats either too fast or too slow while in a sitting or lying down position, I also run into corners while walking, trip all of the time and have fallen alot lately. Can anybody relate to what I am going through????? Somedays I just cry because they can't find what is wrong with me. I am finally going to a neurologist next thursday. I am soooooooo scared though. I just need somebody to talk to about what I am going through. I have had everyone baffled with my symptoms. Thanks for letting me vent. Guest guest
, It is always tempting, but not necessarily a good idea, to try to diagnose oneself by comparing symptoms with those associated with various diseases like MSA. So, it is good that you are going to be seeing a neurologist who will almost certainly evaluate all of your symptoms in regards to the various neurological conditions that could be causing them. Hopefully, s/he may find that you have a treatable condition, such as pernicious anemia (which can cause many of the symptom associated with MSA), and if not, it may be that you have one of the Ataxias which have less severe progression than MSA. In any event, (and its easy for me to say) don't borrow trouble. Wait to hear from your neurologist before assuming that you have MSA. And if should turn out that you have MSA, be aware that there is meaningful life after the diagnosis and many people on this list are proof of that. And, there is much promising research being done as we speak. Many of us on this list are hopeful that the research will be successful in time to help ourselves or our loved ones who have MSA. Hoping that everything goes well for you, Jerry Cash PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!! I have been having these crazy symptoms for about 7yrs, that have progressively gotten worse. Guest guest
, I read your post with great sympathy, and I also agree with Jerry -- don't jump to conclusions! The symptoms you describe could be caused by any number of things, so while it's good to educate yourself as you are doing, leave the diagnosing to the doctor. You can help yourself by making a thorough list of your problems in advance of seeing the doctor. Write it ALL down, including any problems you may be having with frequent urination, constipation, nightmares, loud snoring -- things you think might not be relevant can tell a complete story to an educated doctor. After you have made your list, pick out the top two or three things that are bothering you and tell the doctor that those are the ones you really want to work on getting fixed. But show the doctor the WHOLE list. I hope the neurologist will be able to help you. Please let us know how you make out. Guest guest
Good point Carol, we all do sympathize with 's feelings of frustration and fear. It is very scary to think you may have a serious illness and equally as scary to anticipate finding out for sure one way or the other. So, please be certain that the people on this list will understand and sympathize with your situation and this is a place where you can vent. Guest guest
, I am glad you found this site. Venting here is met with great support, knowledge and compassion. I found this group about 1 year ago and so remember reading the post all night long through my tears. Just to know there are others out there with similar symptoms as you helps you to not feel like you are loosing your mind. It is so frustrating to know your body is doing strange things and not able to understand why you can't get a diagnosis. As they mentioned many diseases/disorders have relating symtoms. Do as Carol suggest and write down all symtpoms, even if they seem silly to you. In the pre- assesment interview you may forget and the list will be most helpful. Hang in there and please let us know how you are doing. The body is strange in how it works and getting a correct diagnosis is more important than a fast one. Trust me I know the frustration as I am still in process of a dx. However, the group here has helped me keep my sanity (some may pick on me about that)and given me lots of help. Join the chats if you are able and you can get to know many here. Best of Luck.... Rose
Guest guest
Dear , I believe you have come to the right place. I am so sorry that you are having these symptoms and have not found a doctor as of yet to help you. I hope that the neurologist that you are going to will know about MSA. I need to tell you that all neurologist do not know about it. If you can make sure you have your symptoms wrote down, how long you have been having these symptoms, and if at all possible take someone with you that knows what you have been going through. If you are married, take your husband. I am hoping that the neurologist you are seeing is a movement specialist. Please know that there is a lot of support in this group for you. If there are any questions that you have I am sure someone can give you advise. Welcome to this group even though I am sorry for the reason you need to be here.
