Guest guest
My husband was diagnosed with shy-dragers 1 yr. ago. We are gradually adjusting to a very different lifestyle and lots of meds. His B.P. goes down as far as 57/23 and then lights out!! Even after all the meds he is still having loads of problems. He is 60 yrs. young. He is on 7 midrodine tabs /day, and 3 florinef tabs. Anyone one else want to share wow their meds are working? Thank
Guest guest
Hello, My husband (now age 56) was diagnosed with Shy Drager Syndrome 4 years ago. He too takes a lot of medication, and his blood pressure meds are 3 (0.1mg) florinef daily and 6 (0.5 mg) proamatine (taken 2 at a time, 3 times a day at 8AM, 12N and 4PM). In addition to this he takes buffered salt tablets, Thermotabs, 4 times a day, and drinks at least 2 liters of water a day. The salt and the water are critical, as the florinef will not be effective without them. With all this medication he is able to be up and around most of the time. The heat bothers him terribly, and he faints easily if he gets too hot. Exertion, like climbing stairs, is also difficult and causes him to need to sit down. Is your husband taking salt? Either the Thermotabs or a cup of instant bouillon daily is important. Don't underestimate the effect of water either, as it can really help. Welcome to the list, and please chime in anytime with questions or comments. Carol & Rob Lexington, MA medications > My husband was diagnosed with shy-dragers 1 yr. ago.
