Guest guest
Does anyone know if you have already had impacted teeth before, does it mean that you could get them again with other teeth? The only reason that I ask is that, I have had impacted canine teeth, (which had to be surgically removed), and i was wondering if this means that i may be more likely to get impacted wisdom teeth? I aks this as my wisdom teeth are begining to come in, and I have felt some mild pain in one of my teeth next to where the wisdom teeth grow in, and there is no sign of the wisdom tooth growing in through the gum! I know this is probally just over imaginating, but I am going to look stuff up on the internet, and I thought it was worth a shot asking you guys! it is probally linked to my retainer or something!! =) Thanks
Guest guest
If you've got pain, I'd call your dentist. He/she can take xrays to see what's going on in there. I never had any impacted teeth, but I did have one impacted lower wisdom tooth (the other lower was erupted, I had no upper wizzies). The jawbone had to be cut for my surgeon to remove it, so I had advance experience in a numb lower lip : > > Does anyone know if you have already had impacted teeth before, does > it mean that you could get them again with other teeth? > The only reason that I ask is that, I have had impacted canine teeth, > (which had to be surgically removed), and i was wondering if this > means that i may be more likely to get impacted wisdom teeth? > I aks this as my wisdom teeth are begining to come in, and I have > felt some mild pain in one of my teeth next to where the wisdom teeth > grow in, and there is no sign of the wisdom tooth growing in through > the gum! Guest guest
Well the pain isnt at all bad, and I can hardly tell it is there no. I will wait a couple of days to see if it is just cause of the tooth growing through the gum. I have been searching the internet and can find no reference to the likeliness of haing impacted wisdoms after having impacted canines. I am hoping that I am way of the mark here, and that it is just my over active imagination! Thanks for replying, and I wil call my dentist if the pain gets worse , but I am hoping it wont! P.SOh, no pain still there but very mild. Will let you know if the pain gets worse! > > Does anyone know if you have already had impacted teeth before, > does > > it mean that you could get them again with other teeth? > > The only reason that I ask is that, I have had impacted canine > teeth, > > (which had to be surgically removed), and i was wondering if this > > means that i may be more likely to get impacted wisdom teeth? > > I aks this as my wisdom teeth are begining to come in, and I have > > felt some mild pain in one of my teeth next to where the wisdom > teeth > > grow in, and there is no sign of the wisdom tooth growing in > through > > the gum! Guest guest
Glad to know it's just mild. Personally, I'd hate to head into a holiday weekend with something that could get worse with nobody on call to help. > > > Does anyone know if you have already had impacted teeth before, > > does > > > it mean that you could get them again with other teeth? > > > The only reason that I ask is that, I have had impacted canine > > teeth, > > > (which had to be surgically removed), and i was wondering if this > > > means that i may be more likely to get impacted wisdom teeth? > > > I aks this as my wisdom teeth are begining to come in, and I have > > > felt some mild pain in one of my teeth next to where the wisdom > > teeth > > > grow in, and there is no sign of the wisdom tooth growing in > > through > > > the gum! Guest guest
And I forgot to say that you can get topical gel (anbesol? for babies teething) from the drugstore that will kind of numb the area. It might help. Be aware it's not the tastiest stuff you will ever put in your mouth! > Glad to know it's just mild. Guest guest
Thanks, will keep that in mind. I am have an orthodontic appointment in July anyway, so if the pain is still there but only mild, I will ask about it. They wil probally want to tak emore x-rays sometime soon anyway, as the last lot that were taken was about 4 years ago, infact over that. I might not be right, but I am sure that I remember someone saying that the wisdom teeth looked like they will come in fine, but as we know, teeth can work in strange ways (i deffinetly do considering that i have already had 2 impacted canines). Another reason that I lead me to the line of thought of impacted canines, is that since I have an underbite, and the tooth which MAY be impacted (but i highly doubt it), is on my upper jaw, which is quite small (apparantly), so that could be a reason for it. Thanks again for your suggestions! > > Glad to know it's just mild.
