Guest guest
57/23 ! What do his doctors say? -I am on 5 mg. of 3 proamatine (7AM, 11AM, 4 PM) a day and 3 florineffs (AM). -use a wedge for elevating my upper body and one for my legs. ones for my side to keep me from rolling to a flat position - use a reclining wheelchair - electric recline because it is too much for people to readjust my position all the time. seriously- i can't expect people to stand at attention to readjust my position. cushion headrest. I stuck extra soft batting in my headrest. It feels much better. - i use a rollator with brakes and someone close behind me. when i can walk alittle. then i sit , my legs get raised onto a chair and i drink water and gatorade. fluids help my BP alot! - i have 2 aides, alternating days , so my husband can work. one person can not do it alone, even if they are not working. -I have to drink alot of fluids ( about 90 ounces) slowly and almost continuously and less pureed food to keep my weight on and from getting impacted. The fluids keeps the bp/ hr , ect. at a better keel. Ensure(2-3 cans daily) and gatorade (64 ounces), and water (plain old water) helps my bp/hr, digestion, ect. issues. Boost constipates me. regular ensure . The ensure plus makes me very sick and throw up, fiber one is very painful for me, Extremely hard for me to digest fats and some sugars. -I wear waist high compression hose. 20/30 compression . we can't get the 30/40's up. The movement wears my body out too much and I am out for the count. - recliner - ( 2 for the price of one from lazy boy) keeps me at my best. sometimes my body physically can't wait for different insurances to pass through. They break and I have back up. The doctor told my husband at the time 'she needs one today'. These are just a few things that I do to combat the BP/ HR, venous pooling, and fatigue symptoms. I can't just pop my meds and go on. I have to do alot of adapting, ect. What does ur husband do after he takes his meds? What other meds is he on? have to rest now. nancy tischerb wrote: > > My husband was diagnosed with shy-dragers 1 yr. ago. We are gradually > adjusting to a very different lifestyle and lots of meds. Guest guest
, Sounds like you are battling MSA well. A suggestion (if you are having problems with constipation) is the take some colace (a stool softener) as a try. Take care, Bill Werre ========================================== > > > Date: 2002/08/25 Sun AM 10:15:21 CDT > To: shydrager > Subject: Re: medications and fluids, body postioning combined to help bp/hr > > 57/23 !
