Guest guest
Hi us and welcome, I am 4 weeks post op today from upper/lower surgery to correct my underbite and you can read the account of my surgery on this site: message number 77273 posted June 14, 2004 Regarding your questions: How long did it take to recover enough to: Talk: I could talk as soon as I woke up in my room. I was neither wired or banded shut. I do have a splint and talking can be a chore but I don't have a problem with people understanding me Eat without a syringe: I never used a syringe. I was drinking out of a cup in the hospital and I used zip-n-squeeze bags along with a glass when I got home Eat solid food: I am on a " no chew " diet. Just liquids and things that can be blended and thinned down Go out in public without scaring people : I had an appointment with my OS a week after my surgery and the nurses did a double take. They couldn't believe I had surgery the week before Exercise: Haven't been given the okay to exercise yet Work (office job): I was back at work 2 wks to the day after my surgery How long were you noticeably swollen / bruised: The swelling started going down by day five (pretty drastically after that) and I was never bruised With regards, Dale
