Update on Pete/welcome new members

Hi all- I would like to welcome all new members, I have not posted lately. To eveyone I would like to say that the recent "problems" the group was having is definetly an exception to the rule. Pete and I have been members since 1998..when we joined I think Pete was #23 or something in that area. Angie, Roy and W were just wonderful and if it wasn't for their support and suggestions Pete would have given up a long time ago. Just know that this is a wonderful group with a world full of knowledge and a great sense of humor. Okay on to Mr.Pete..he has not been having any flares but is having alot of trouble with high sugar levels. A few days ago they started him on Starlix in addition to amaryl. The sugar levels have come down but not enough...so its off to the doc again tomorrow. He has developed cataracts and will have the first eye operated on August 9th (I forget who suggested Dr. Weiss at Columbia, but thats who we went to and he was GREAT so Thank You)..right now he can only see shadows so its very hard for him because he is deaf too. He is a trooper though and has kept his sense of humor which gets him through alot of tough times. Will keep you all updated as much as I can. You are all always in my prayers!!! Love Janet
