I just had surgery Tuesday the 29.(Upper and Lower to correct an

underbite) It wasn't a really bad experience. The same day I jumped

up out of bed and walked myself to the bathroom. I had a few nose

bleeds, but I expected it so I wasn't scared. And now my only

complaint is lack of sleep. I sleep for an hour or so and then I'm up

again listening to the crackling of ice in the bags around my head.

I am banded so I can't brush terribly well... should I try harder? It

makes me nervous.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my last posts. I felt really

prepared, and I'm healing nicely.

I'll post pictures before and after as soon as the swelling abates.

christina, tell me more, i am having upper jaw surgery on the 20th of

july for an underbite, do you look alot different , are you pleased

with the result, i am very excited about having this done, but i have

read some horrible stories about the surgery, you sound like you had

a positive experience, the oral surgeon said he may just move the top

forward and not have to move the lower, but after the get started

they may have to do the upper and lower. i would like to hear more

about your experience. thanks, jen
