Guest guest
Sadly had a bad fall this morning on rising from bed., he hit his head, not badly, but did cut and scrape his back on the unit the result is quite nasty. He did not need a visit to the hospital but I did get him checked with our GP. I also mentioned has bad the tremors in his body(especially his legs) are getting at night, is totally unaware but I am finding it difficult to sleep with him but am loath to result to separate beds. The doctor has prescribed Propranolol Hydrochloride Tablets for help ease the tremors, has anyone come across these. 's depression has been very bad this weekend with lots and lots of tears, he now says he does not want to go to New Orleans, I am hoping this is a passing mood as I know deep down he does. Guest guest
Hi gillian Sorry to read of `s fall ,does he fall often? It may be a good idea to start looking around your home and making some small changes to make it safer...things like covering sharp corners on furniture, removing small rugs and bath mats, putting in grab bars etc.OT`s can help with assessments of homes ,but you can do a lot yourself. I have no personal knowledge of the drug you mention but I`m sure someone on the list will.I do hope it will help as you both need a good night`s sleep and will probably only get more depressed if you move out on him. I have asked you before if he is on an anti depressant but cant remember your Reply If not ,please consider asking his Doc,they really can help. Sometimes you need to try more than one...the first one I tried made me much worse(Zoloft) but another drug in the same familyof seratonin reuptake inhibitors(Celexa) made a big difference in how I coped. Hopefully will soon feel better and look forward to that trip to New Orleans...keep in touch, we all care Love, Marg Manson Gillian Bourke wrote: Sadly had a bad fall this morning on rising from bed., he hit his head, not badly, but did cut and scrape his back on the unit the result is quite nasty. Guest guest
Jill, I am so sorry to hear that had a bad fall this morning. I imagine that he feels it 100 times worse than someone without MSA. I don't know about the medication he is taking for tremors. Has he just started taking them recently? Does talk to a psychologist to deal with this disease. I think sometimes it is better to have one to talk out all the feelings that one goes through. This is a big disappointment when you think of all the things you plan for retirement and then before you get there or even afterwards you can't even do the things you had planned. I know I was feeling blue after listening to my husband talk about the dreams we have (had) for when he retired. Upon listening to Bill and Barbara talk about the places they have been, I have been very fortunate to have traveled alot also. I grew up 45 miles from Niagra Falls, been to Washington,D.C and the smithsonians, all the memorials, cemetary, NYC and the things there, out west, Canada, and so many other places that I won't go on but the things you plan on when it is just the 2 of you and the kids are grown (I have 3 in high school) are the things you look really forward to. Just alone the cost of only paying for 2 instead of 6 was going to be a treat. We are now using the retirement money for medical equipment, doctors and trying to get the kids out of high school. I only have 4 more years. I know you have alot longer. Oh well, Barb, see you aren't the only one who can get sidetracked. Jill, give some time, hon. Things usually look better in the morning.
