Guest guest
Dodie I can't remember if you were the one saying you also have speech problems but looking at this I assume you do. I really miss my mind! Have you seen this other than the catalog or internet? Is the price of this reasonable compared to other equipment, do you know? Will insurance companies pay for this? I have not recieved my wheelchair yet. I am still waiting but already have the lift on my car for it. It is getting harder and harder for others to understand what I am saying. I haven't looked into this yet (keep thinking my voice will come back home)! I think it has left with my mind. Oh well, it could be worse. I assume that this is something that occupational therapist will order for you also, am I right? Sorry to ask so many questions but I still have an inquiring mind even if the memory it possessed is trying to go south on me. Thanks, Belinda > I saw my rehab doc today, she is so neat! Guest guest
ASK UR PHYSICIAN ABOUT A REFERRAL TO A SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST. THEY ARE THE PROFESSION THAT EVALUATES SPEECH AND LANGUAGE. THE SLP WILL HELP THE PATIENT WITH WHAT COMMUNICATION DEVICE THE PATIENT NEEDS. AN EVAL WILL HELP INSURANCE COMPANIES DECIDE ON PAYING FOR THE COMMUNICATION DEVICE NEEDED. TRY THE DEVICES BEFORE PURCHASING THEM. THE SLP WILL ALSO MAKE INDIVIDUAL ADAPTATIONS TO A DEVICE. LOOK FOR A SLP'S WHO SPECIALIZE IN AUGMENTATIVE COMMUNICATION DEVICES, SWALLOWING, AND VOICE. U WILL SEE A 'SLP- CCC' AFTER THEIR NAME MEANING SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST- CERTIFICATE OF CLINICAL COMPETENCE. THEY GENERALLY HAVE A MASTER DEGREE, LICENSE, AND CCC'S. nancy belnorest wrote: > > Dodie > I can't remember if you were the one saying you also have speech > problems but looking at this I assume you do.
