Last fall Ned had a rental unit for three weeks and I even went to a class to learn how to program it and we had received verbal approval from our insurance company (since Ned is already receiving benefits under the managed care his caseworker didn't foresee a problem getting written approval). Unfortunately, Ned's dexterity had deteriorated so much that he opted for me not to submit the final paperwork. There are times when I wish I had gone against his wishes, but I couldn't see paying the $ 7-8000 if he felt he couldn't use it. I agree with you -- with all of the problems of SDS/MSA the lack of communication is the worst. Best of luck with the dynavox. Judy B.
