Guest guest
I'm 2 months lower jaw advancement postop and I still have a miniscule amount of residual swelling in both cheeks. Although, the swelling is minimal, i've noticed that there is a bit more swelling in one cheek. It makes my face look a bit asymetric... anyone have this problem? Also, i've been told that last part of the swelling can take anywhere between 6 months to 1 year to subside... not what i really want to hear... how long before any of you had no swelling left?? thanks
Guest guest
Hi Zulu I am two and a half months post op and still have swelling around the cheeks, lopsided too. There is some asymmetry, not helped by the fact my septum deviated a bit after the op (to be fixed later in the year!) I've also got pain on one side on opening - that side still has limited movement. The surgeon whom I consulted in a panic about it two weeks ago doesn't seem worried - I must just carry on with the jaw stretching (tongue depressor) exercises.
