Guest guest
Hey all, Man, does it feel good to be back. i am sure i missed a TON of " goings-on " . My computer was " sick " with spy stuff blah, blah, blah..... but after $170, voila! Good as new. I am on day 11 and am feeling pretty great. i can't believe i am still taking advil, but i am. the swelling has gone down a LOT. i am stiff, but also feel myself moving my lips more than ever. i even practiced smiling in front of a mirror today. not great, but it's improvement. i am JUST getting really tired of eating they way i am. I think i was just feeling so " recovering " before that i didn't care, i knew i just had to do what i had to do to be well. now that i am off penicillin and percosetts, etc, i feel like i should be " more like me " . I am eating great tho, spaghetti and meatsauce in blender tonight, not bad, lots of great soups, tons of yummy yogurt, i had turkey, gravy and m. potatoes the other night. i think i am wanting texture. I have been thinking alot about the folks who have had or are just about to have the surgery. best of luck! I have to ask many of you who are " on my side " . How many screws do you have? I know i mentioned this before, but i have 25. i think that is a lot. my first visit with the dr on Friday was good, it was REALLY cool to see the xray. i really want to ask him for a copy - good conversation pieice, you know? i have not lost any weight. i did think of (who was it, AJ?), the golf swings on day 10, yesterday! I ahve been taking walks every day, and i have to say, i do just about everything except run, mow the lawn and hold Grace real close. i shop, just got in from weeding the gardens, i'm doing tons around the house, but i am also taking a nap everyday, something i do not usually do. THAT IS GOOD, i highly recommend it. I have my second visit on friday with my OS. i called them today to see if there was anything other than water, salt water, brushing and syringing that i could be using in my mouth. i am not feeling REAL gross, but just starting to get that way. Oh, last visit with him, he did say that one part of the stitches had opened up, i could see it and feel it when he squirted the area with water, but it looks to be healing up OK. Dying for the really good tooth brushing episode. When is the first visit with the orthodontist? just curious. Good to be back. hope everyone is well. Oh, I just love talking about this. Unfortunately it freaks too many people out. Only jaw surgery patients can understand! I have 5 plates and 34 screws! Irish!
