Guest guest
Oops, sorry Nicki, I didn't see this directed at me (I don't read a lot of the posts, have trouble getting on sometimes as I am very busy these days). Thanks, Irish, for replying! Hope you are doing well! My upper retainer is bonded to each tooth, with additional acrylic " buttons " on each tooth (inside, not outside). How do I floss? I have enough of a gap at the top of each tooth to fit Superfloss in from the outside in (I hate floss threaders - to me they are only useful as leprechaun snares). At first I couldn't figure out how to do it (tried to do it from the inside out). I don't floss as much as I should, I do use my waterpik a LOT to flush things out and I brush after each meal. Occasionally I get in there with a proxybrush, but the best is waterpik and flossing. I just saw my dental hygienist and admitted I was not flossing as much as I should. She said I was doing really well with the regimen I had and not to be overly concerned. I was quite relieved to hear that! Food doesn't get trapped in it. I don't talk funny (the removable retainer gave me a definite lisp). As for the lower, it should be the same. In the case of both, my tongue is very interested in checking them out, so be careful at first. I referred to my lower as a " tongue scraper " and actually was in terrible pain after eating raw pineapple not soon after it was installed - think terrific burn on open cuts in the tongue! After a while, you get used to it. Hope that helps, > > , My question is for you because I am suppose to get a fixed > > retainer on the bottom after all of this is over with. What is it > > like?
