Guest guest
When my wife was first diagnosed with SCA, I joined here for support and info. I left, not because of the support or info, but because I didn't think I was in the right place. However, my wife's diagnosis has changed to sporadic OPCA. I understand that this is a form of MSA so here I am again, looking for hope and answers. Dick
Guest guest
Dick, Welcome back, sorry you need to be here. My wife also had the OPCA form of Multiple systems atrophy. Guest guest
Greetings Dick! Welcome. Some cases of Sporadic OPCA are indeed MSA. Unfortunately, I suspect it is very, very difficult to seperate non-MSA and MSA related Sporadic OPCA. Sporadic simply means it is not (to the best of anyone's knowledge) inherited. But it might not be due to MSA. Diabetes can trigger similar symptoms. Or it might be due to exposure to chemicals. I am in your wife's boat. Just Sporadic OPCA. Possibly MSA. There are some autonomic problems, but as yet, not very pronounced. Time will tell. What I have learned is that managing symptoms is the most important thing we can do. Decreasing stress, and managing strength are the next two. Anyway, welcome back. Regards, =jbf= B. Fisher
Guest guest
Welcome back Dick. I have no idea about the diagnosis. Just know that this is a great group - for whatever support you need :-) > When my wife was first diagnosed with SCA, I joined here for support > and info.
