Guest guest
My wife has been treated for 2 years by a doctor who is more researcher then doctor. We are looking for a doctor with knowledge of movement disorders, especially cerebellar disorders, in the Boston area. It might sound ideal to have a doctor who is heavily involved in research but its not. He is more scientist than doctor. We need someone available to answer questions, write prescriptions when needed, order the right tests at the right time, etc.. Be there is what we want. Any help would be appreciated. Guest guest
Dick, Attached is a list of doctors who see the members of the Boston Support Group. I don't know who your wife is seeing at the moment, but as far as I know everyone who sees the docs on this list is pleased. My husband Rob sees Dr. Freeman at Beth Israel Deaconess, who is an autonomic specialist. He is very good, but if your need is more movement disorders Dr. Tarsy is the head of the movement disorders group at BIDMC. He spoke at the National Support Group Meeting in May and is very knowledgeable. I'm not personally familiar with the other medical centers. Where in the Boston area do you live? Would you be interested in attending meetings of the local support group? Please let me know if you would like me to add you to my support group mailing list. Our next meeting is scheduled for October 17 at Beth Israel Deaconess -- I'll be happy to send you details if you are interested.
