Guest guest
Congrat's Amy, we'll be switch sisters! I'm being switched by Dr. Anthone at 1 pm on Friday. I'm calling it my Independance Day as well, finally being freed after all these years of being fat and worrying about my weight. I too have the same fears and concerns that you have but I refuse to believe that God led me to this path only to have something horrible happen to me. Good Luck! Guest guest
I just joined this group a few days ago, and found it very helpful. My son is having surgery on friday, upper jaw and genioplasty. Tonight i got a call from the surgeon, just to review what treatment we were doing, when he says that he wants to run another option by me, which would be also doing lower jaw, which would give him a little stronger chin. He says that functionally either way is fine. He emailed pictures and drawings of the two options. The problem is that the initial computer photo we had, is a little different than the one he just emailed me(just the upper and the genio) The operation is being done at Mass General in Boston , the surgeon has a good reputation, what really freaked me out was, that two days before surgery he throws this at us. Its made me very frustrated and anxious. My son hasn decided yet which way to go, im thinking the less surgery the better. Id appreciate some feedback thanks
Guest guest
I agree - the less surgery the better. Your orthodontist and surgeon supposedly worked out a plan. Why the last minute change? What does your ortho have to say about it? Jay > I just joined this group a few days ago, and found it very helpful. Guest guest
Thanks for the feedback, and good luck to you also. We can compare notes after surgery. What are you having done? After talking with the ortho and a friend who is an oral surgeon my son has decided to stay with the original plan, upper and genio. This group is great, makes me feel alot better. Guest guest
I'm having surgery Friday (tomorrow) also! From what I've heard, I think healing is healing. Either way its going to be tough for a little while, but I know that upper is usually more difficult than lower anyway, so opting to go ahead and do lower as well probably wouldn't make healing too much more difficult, if at all. Also, you want to do what will make him feel better about himself in the long run. Either way, I'm sure it'll be fine. Good luck! > I just joined this group a few days ago, and found it very helpful. Guest guest
Good luck. I had surgery last Friday. It wasn't as bad as I thought. Just keep on taking pain killers regularly....Trust me each day things get better after the surgery.. Sach > Thanks for the feedback, and good luck to you also. > We can compare notes after surgery.
