Guest guest
Thanks so much, I think this is where I am starting to freak...a few areas, the fact that my surgeon said it will be seven hours of surgery time with a window of two hours either way...I know the longer you are under the more risk. The second part is that he will be lowering my upper jaw down as well as out, so now I am thinking I will have this really gummy smile. I guess I need to just speak to him. did you start to worry over every little detail the closer to surgery you got? I have been pretty calm and positive but at this point I am having a hard time. I guess I just need to talk to my OS then put things in perspective. Sorry for rambling....thanks for listening:-) > > > Today is one week post op, or is it two weeks post op??? ;-) I'm > > > back at work half time this week, although I think I could really > > do > > > full time. Guest guest
Lillie: I too was in your position before my surgery - I was told anywhere from 7 - 8 hours. I was in the operating room for 6 1/2 hours. I don't remember much from surgery day other than getting something to " help me relax " . I am now 8 days post-op other than minor swelling and lips like Angelina Jolie, everything is going well. Dr took my bands off (16) and replace with only 2. I had both the upper and lower, and widening of the upper palate. I am now eating foods cut small pieces. I have even progressed to hard fried eggs. At one point I was regretting that I had gone through with this surgery, but now that I am on the other side I would do it again. I will post before, after surgery, and after-after pics at a later date. Good luck with your surgery.
