Guest guest
I'm 3 weeks post op. I haven't had any orthodontic activity since my operation as my jaw heals. And now I'm noticing my teeth starting to do weird things. I am certain that some of my teeth are starting to collapse inward. They are basically reverting back to their state before I got braces. I'm sure that my orthodontist can fix this problem once we start orthodontic activity again. But still, it's pretty disturbing. Anyone else notice your teeth moving during this recovery phase? Guest guest
Please call your surgeon - this may not be normal. I don't mean to scare you, but it is better to be on the safe side. > Do you still have your braces on? > > teeth moving > > > I'm 3 weeks post op. Guest guest
Marco, Teeth moving was one of the first things i noticed when i looked in the mirror the day after my surgery. it's almost as if my two front teeth are tilted sideways, kind of hard to describe. i remember posting that i thought (think) my upper jaw was tilted, and i have to speak wiht my OS about that tomorrow at my 2 week post surg visit. he has 4 bands on that " highside " of my jaw and two on the other. the two don';t seem to be doing anything as my teeth already meet on that side, but YES, my teeth are not as straight as my ortho painstakingly got them prior to surgery. if it is simply moving teeth, i am ok with that. if there is a malfunction in the jaw, i will be pissed. i will know more tomorrow. this numbness is REALLY starting to get on my nerves. > I'm 3 weeks post op. Guest guest
Marco, My OS specifically asked to have me meet with my OD within 3 weeks after surgery to get things moving while the bones were still soft. I've noticed that one of my upper front teeth is moving downward as a result of the bands he put me in. But, I've only got another week before I meet with my OD for the first time. Hey, that means only another week with surgical hooks!!!! Dammit > I'm 3 weeks post op. I haven't had any orthodontic activity since > my operation as my jaw heals.
