Guest guest
, Even after my second surgery my teeth don't all meet perfectly. My OS and OD both told me this was likely to be the case before surgery. They had positioned my teeth into what they called a tripod effect. They had planned for them to touch in the front, and back, with the middle section not meeting. My OD told me that once I saw him after surgery it would be a matter of weeks to do the vertical movement. Guest guest
I haven't had the chance to talk to my otho yet.. the appointment isn't until August. I'm just in a big rush I guess to see results and know its going to be the way I imagine it. I'm gonna try to chill out and focus on healing up. One thing at a time. Thanks for writing back. -- In orthognathicsurgerysupport , dammitviejo wrote: > , > > Even after my second surgery my teeth don't all meet perfectly. Guest guest
I'm 4 weeks post-op and my molars (6 and 7) don't yet touch. This isn't a big surprise. I had lower jaw advancement (BSSO). Two weeks post-op I visited my ortho for the first time, and he put me in elastics " Ram " to bring the molars together as well as to keep the lower jaw forward and centered. This concurs with what Dammit was saying: the OS and ortho wanted to get me in elastics quickly while the bones are still soft. I am happy to report that the molars appear to be coming together. I'm confident in a few weeks the molars will be touching. Jay > > I'm now 9 days post op (upper and lower) and I'm removing the > rubber > > bands on my own now...
