Sue, I was also on Prozac for 2 years.... It helped alot.... Only thing I

found after 2 years was that I felt no emotions. (don't know if that was bad

or good. LOL ) Had no other side effects.

I am suppose to start Effexor now... Has anyone been on this one?

Hi Curly,

Don't be scared of the Prozac. I was on it for several months last year following my father's death. It really helped me get through the rough spots.

I'm sure it will help you too. Glad you told your doc about the depression and hope everything else improves now with the meds too.

Keep us updated, OK?

Moe

So now on Prozac...kind of scares me but I know I need something to get out of the "funk." Sue Marth

Thanks Moe, your a real Pal. I know we don't talk much directly but I consider you one of my best friends...I hope the Prozac works too. I guess I associated it with really "bad" depressed people and hell maybe I am...I know I'm not me. Gad there's a lot of "I's" in this mail. You take care of you....Curly

Hi , does it matter that after awhile you just quit it or do you have to taper down. I tried samples of Effonex but it was too expensive to buy outright...Like $90 a month. I think it worked. I don't like the idea of no emotion but hate crying over commercials....Thanks, Sue M

LOL...Oh Sue ...you sound sooo much like... Hallmark commercials should be

banned... that's a three tissue..LOL I knew something was wrong when the

girls were sobbing threw a movie and I was just sitting there...They'd ask me

" Mom, what's the matter, you don't cry anymore at movies? " Yes they use to

make fun of me..... Finally realized that I really didn't care about

anything. LOL So, I slowly cut back... did it on my own...You should

probably ask your dr or pharmist how to come off of it the right way... I had

no problems...but I did do it slow. Like I said, I was on it 2 years.... so

I think the dose and length of time has alot to do with it and each of us are

different soo. I wish you luck... It did do wonders for my mental state...LOL

hugs

Sue, gee that's high.... I have pretty good insurance and my co pay is $20 or

30 ...but my PCP always gives me samples... on a monthly basis if he has

them... I have the samples of Effexor in my cabinet.... just haven't had the

guts to try them yet. LOL I'm a big chicken when it comes to new meds... He

gave it to me for pain... the way my feet feel tonight, think I'll go pop

one. LOL

, I have been on Effexor XR for two years, I

take two 37.5 mg every evening. I have slept better,

had fewer leg cramps, and best of all HAVENOT BEEN

DEPRESSED. I had never taken an antidepressant

before, and found the benefits quite amazing. As far

as I know I have had not had any bad side effects,

don't feel dozy or anything - give it a try!! Love Liz

Liz, thanks for the info... I think I will get brave and try it. LOL Always

hate to start something new, but it just might help with the pain... I'll

keep you updated.

Can't wait to meet you in just a few weeks.... boy time is really flying

now... doesn't seem like we have been planning this for a year...

Take care and have a nice weekend.

hugs
