Here's a tip for everyone who is fortunate enough to be able to eat

from a spoon. Use a hand mirror. It cuts down on the mess

drastically. This way, you can see where your mouth is, and where to

put your food. Plus, if you miss a little, you know to wipe it

before it drips.

Good tip Luke. I used a table top standing mirror and the 'bucket'

from the hospital for feeding for the first week, by spoon or

drinking from a glass. I am still not able to feel if something is

dripping down my chin (2 weeks later) but i feel i have better

control so that it doesn't happen in the first place. i really hope

this improves soon though, as every once in a while i find myself

doing a big huge slurpy sound to just swallow my saliva! katie

That's a great idea. I actually bought a locker mirror at Staples and

used it for weeks. My husband is the type whom, when you ask if

you've got anything in your teeth or on your face, would

say: " nothing to speak of " (grrrrr!) I just couldn't tell if my face

had food on it, so I was constantly wiping, but I do remember in the

beginning not being able to find my mouth without looking in the

mirror!
