Guest guest
Hi Shirley, I can only tell you of our experience. My husband got Social Security Disability and with that Medicare. His Dr put him on home health several different times and with home health he got all the therapys - physical, speech, occupational. But he was home bound could not go anywhere and it only lasted a while and Dr had to prescribe again. He is now with Hospice and there is no more therapy, their aim is to keep the person comfortable as possible but we have a DNR and if I choose to take him to a hospital, I have to release him from Hospice. But he is free to go anywhere. with home health we had a nurse once every 2 weeks, an aide (to bathe, shave, etc) twice a week. With hospice we have a nurse twice a week and an aide 3 times a week. I hope that answers you questions, if you have anymore please ask and I will try to answer. We did not have any problems with insurance because he had Medicare.
