Guest guest
Hi everyone! I've been away from the list for a while (set myself to web-only), but (Vitalady) was telling me about a bunch of you doing a jumpstart, and I thought I'd jump back in and join you. This is Day One for me, but I know you'll all back me up. Nice to be back! I've missed you all! ~~ Lyn G

Guest guest
Same here!! While I have DEFINITELY had my weak moments, I have at least tempered them with " wiser " choices, and have been more aware of what I am doing. I have also been to the gym faithfully over the last 2.5 weeks. I think I am finally out of my " hibernation " mode! Deanna Re: Day 2 Hey Lyn! Go for it! Guest guest
Hey, you are so-o-o right on! I am going on #4 because for the first time an a long time I am concious of what I am shoveling in! I have been in a blue-funk for a few months. Then I told myself... " Self....get the ring out of your nose and think for yourself again! " The 3 day POC came at the right time. I feel good about myself right now. I can do this one day at a time. Like eating an elephant....one piece at a time. The big picture scares me sometimes. I am not at my goal but I will get there eventually. Right now I am really sure of it! Thanks for the fun and lessons learned his week! Haven't been on the scale this week. Guest guest
> Lyn, Join in on the fun...LOL...sure is fun getting back on track :-) Well I did great until dinner time -- and even then I didn't do BAD, I just didn't do what I intended. Family was having frozen pizzas, and ordinarily they don't call my name. I avoided them, but finally I just HAD to have something, so I made a quesadilla with a lo-carb tortilla and some cheddar/jack mix. Not terrible, because the tortilla has only 3g of carbs and I hadn't had any all day that weren't in my shakes. Still, I didn't want to eat that much solid food. It's so early I haven't had my protein shake yet, but the shaker is on the counter and the powder is next to it, so right after email check that's next. Wish me luck for my Day 2! I can't believe I'm doing this now -- I have a potluck to go to on Sunday! Hopefully, after 3 days of all protein, Sunday's fare won't tempt me too badly, or if it does I will be able to say " get thee behind me! Guest guest
Well I am at the end of day 2, swelling is worse as was expected, I went to MLD today and almost all of the sewlling inside of my mouth went down. So that makes eating easier. I'm not hungry at all, drinking losts of vitimin water though and what I do eat is high quality nourishment. I've had 2 zippies of fresh veggie juice ( carrot, celery, spinich and parsley, ) with vitimin powder. fortunatly I like vegetable juice, I've also had the Bolthouse vanilla soy protein drink ( for those of you who haven't tried it, it is really yummy), some more beans with cheese and some oat meal, I slept about 4 hours off and on today and hopefully will get a few hours tonight. The congestion is killing me. I keep cleaning all kinds of gunk out of my nose. I took two hot baths today and all kind of stuff came out of my nose and ears, but man that first bath this morning was heavenly. I have a lot of tingling all over and almost all of the feeling back inside of my mouth, tongue roof of mouth etc. I take that to be a good sign. I'm going to try to go for a walk around the yard tomorrow if I can, my feet are really swollen. well thanks for listening and any suggestions are welcome. Guest guest
One day at a time Marsha - you're doing great. I'm sure you have put a lot of thought into your nutrition which is good. Just make sure you eat even if you are not hungry. Sometimes you read where people don't eat for three days post-op because they're not hungry. I don't think that's the way to go. Guest guest
It's just hard for me ( or anyone ) to believe that I am not hungry! Food has always been high on my list of priorities. But I'll get through this one day at a time like you said. > > Well I am at the end of day 2, swelling is worse as was expected, > I > > went to MLD today and almost all of the sewlling inside of my > mouth > > went down.
