Guest guest
Hi. I might as well chime in on this one... " Ding Dong " :-) I was sent to an ENT. He saw me because the neurological tests showed evidence of a lesion on one of the cranial nerves (think it was the 8th). He assessed me, and looked at my MRI pics. He was looking for a narrowing of any nerve passages. He also looked for lesions. None were apparent. He was the first to diagnose me (before Mayo or the neuro) with autonomic neuropathy. He was also the most honest - telling me that they only understand 2% of the autonomic nervous system - to decrease any expectation I'd have of either diagnosis or treatment. In my case, the ENT also looked at my throat, but it was because of what has become daily vomiting. He was surprised to find no erosion. This was good news. Of course, pretty much any news, which is concrete - is " good news " . :-) Hope this helps. > Hi Pam: Bob went to an ENT dr. a couple of years ago when he was first > having difficulty forming words. I don't remember which tests were done > at that time, but they showed he had a paralyzed vocal chord & a tilted > voice box. Hope this answers your question.
