Guest guest
My surgery is on Sept. 15th too! and I am having upper and lower, but there may be more, I'm not sure at this point. I'm happy to know at least 2 other ppl will be dealing with the same thing! It feels like Sept. is coming up fast and I still have loads to learn and things to do! > > > Just wondering if anyone has a surgery date for September, which > > is > > > when mine will be. Guest guest
Hey! I'm not having my surgery in September...but earlier actually...on August 11. I can tell ya how mine went before you have yours. I'm definitely nervous because I don't really know what to expect. I've have quite a few people respond to my posts on here as well as the orthonaticsurgerysupport2 site. Encouragement is definitely a confidence booster! I was totally freaking out (remember that, .. ? hehe!). I finally came in terms with the surgery, and a few weeks before, I was so calm, I had to actually firmly ask people around me to stop freaking out, as it wasn't helping me.. (the thruth!). There will come a time when you'll realized that stress and anxiety is counter productive, and that you're better having full confidence in your health providers. They know what's best for you, they dealt with hundreds (if not thousands) of patients like you before. You're better preparing yourself than anticipating something that might be quite simpler than you think. The last weeks, I made a list of things I required, and I made sure not to buy everything on the same day (to avoid the usual oops.. I forgot that...again..!). I made sure I'd call all my friends and familly, that took 3 evenings. I also prepare my appartment (dusting, cleaning, preparing clean sheets and towel) to make sure I wouldn't stress upon my returning home. All this to say, I kept my mind busy. I had a wonderful surgey, I'm healing just fine, and I can't wait to finally meet everybody again, rubber bands free, at the restaurant (planned for mid August).
