Guest guest
This is a repost from last year. Those wondering if they have the iron defect mentioned in the NIH article http://www.nih.gov/news/pr/jan2001/nichd-30.htm need to have their serum ferritin level checked. If it is high then you may want to contact Dr. Rouault to be checked for the genetic defect in iron regulatory protein 2 (IRP2). Regards, Pam Pam, She wants the serum ferritin assay. Bill. Here is what she wrote me: Dear Mr. Werre, Would you ask her dr. to perform a serum ferritin assay and let me know the results? I would be very interested. Guest guest
If it is of any assistance to anybody in the group: Every time my Ferritin levels go high my specialist begins to suspect an infection. He tells me he has proven it many times that an unreasonably high Ferratin level out of the blue can often indicate this. I guess there can also be other reasons. It has been so twice for me now and a course of ciproxin has brought my ferritin levels right down and showed I was actually in need of Iron injections to get my well being improved as Ferratin level dropped. Have not had any Iron injections for a long time. I have been very unwell again recently with lungs also being affected. A few days ago results came back showing my ferratin levels climbing toward 900, previous highest was about 400 odd, I can't remember exactly. The Specialist immediately started me off on another course of antibiotics, which I am hoping will normalise things again. It's too soon to tell anything yet. In my case the bug the suspect in Mycoplasma. It is beginning to look as if it is a monster waiting to be delt with Regards to all Bill PIlgrim -- Fwd: Re: Blood Tests measuring iron This is a repost from last year.
