Which regardless of my years, after recently seeing her mom in the hospital--even WITH the ability to talk she thinks I need more attention then a regular room that first night. Guess mom was right?! Serioiusly, was ICU planned or " because of yadda...? " And what was your reaction to the morphine...my GF just had a c- section and was SO ill from the morphine the whole 24 hrs it lasted. Were you on a pump or ?? Thanks Ray, Jo

The ICU was planned. My surgery was scheduled to last 5.5 hours (and it lasted 9 hours). For long surgery, ICU is not an option. I became agitated, couldn't sleep more than 5 or 10 minutes at a time, and I was kind of delirious. I was with a pump, and every nurse kept telling me to use it, that it would make me feel better... Yeah, sure! Untill they came and remove it, and switched me on codein. After that, things started to get better (drinking, toilet room, etc.) I was cleared to leave on the 4th day (because of the allergic reaction to morphine, otherwise, I'd have left on the 3rd day, 2nd night).
