Guest guest
Thanks le for making me feel better. I'm glad I found this group but at the same time I wonder whether it was a good idea. Some of you are suffering so much and I'm afraid that the more I hear about your symptoms, I'll pick up on it (psychosomatic) and get worse. It's just me. Paranoid me. :-) I don't know if this is just coincidental or not, but does anyone have achy or sensitive teeth? When I drink cold or room temp water, my teeth hurt (to the core). It started happening soon after I started meth. It's really annoying. I brush my teeth with sensodyne, but it doesn't help much. I asked my dentist while she was doing a cleaning and she said it could be from the Albuteral I used, but it has been months since I took it. Any ideas? PS: do we have rules about how we should post our emails without attaching previous emails? I was wondering. It's kind of confusing (and laborious) to go through the emails and see that I've already read them. I like the posts that include bits of the messages they're replying to. I don't want to step on any toes, being new to the group and all, but just wondered whether there were any " rules " that were established earlier on. If so, please let us newbies know about them. Thanks! ===== When choosing the lesser of two evils, I always like the one I haven't tried. -- Mae West __________________________________________________

It has really given me a wakeup call.. in the chat friday, we were laughing about denial. But I really was in denial. Now reading the posts I go between feeling so bad for whoever is suffering to fear that that is where I am headed. As for the teeth.. well... mine don't hurt as such, but my dentist says they are too loose for my age. He was wondering if I grind my teeth in my sleep. If I try to bite an apple, I can feel my teeth move in my gums.. it feels so strange. I don't know if that is the rp, but it has only been recently this has been happening. Does your jaw ever hurt? you know how if you touch your face, you can feel where your jaw bone is just in front of your ears? mine has really been bothering me, but only at night while I try to sleep. It's not a sharp pain, more a dull ache. I was having a lovely day yesterday, no symptoms, I almost did a cartwheel, but in the afternoon I was reading, and sitting with my cats, and next thing I knew it was 2 hrs later. I fell asleep and didn't even know it. I was really disorientated, I couldn't think where I was and I thought I was going to be sick. This has happened a few times. Hope you are having a good day today. le

With the mouth gards, how do they work, and where can I get them? >> le, TMJ stands for Temporal Mandibular Joint. ( it is your jaw joint.) With my insurance there seems to be a problem with who is resposible for treatment... The dental part won't pay, they say it's medical and the medical says it's dental. LOL Any way, the mouth guards can be made by a dentist and worn at night. My ENT told me to just buy sports guards at the sporting good store... The ones football players wear. He said to cut them down to fit. Also, when having a flare or TMJ, try not to chew, eat soft foods and drink through a straw. I use hot and cold alternately to relieve some face pain. Also told me no to talk so much.... yeah right. LOL Another trick is as soon as you feel it start to come, rub as hard as you can the outside of the jaw joint, just below or in front of your ear.. Keep massaging until the pain subsides... Won't always work, but sometimes... Ask you dr or dentist, they can probably come up with some new stuff. Mine was diagnosed over 20 years ago.... Oh,... also.. take anti inflamatories... Advil, motrin, etc. I know how painful this can be... Hope it goes away for you real soon. At least there is some relief... Mine now comes and goes, but when it comes it is with a vengence. LOL Guess you just learn to live with it afte awhile... I do feel the weather has alot to do with it too. Hope your dentist can help you soon...No need to be in that much pain... See you had a restful weekend... Probably really needed it... The massaging the jaw joint actually works. I was taking ibuprofen all weekend long, which puts me to sleep, and I just got to read all the posts today. I massaged my jaw, and it felt better for a while. That is good to know. Boy does the pain really annoy! How have you managed to deal with it for 20 yrs? Does is go away or does it just flare up occasionally? Albuquerque has been having alot of rain, and it is really damp here.. weird for a desert. So I am wondering if that has anything to do with it, as all my joints have been aching something fierce. Hope you are having a great week. le

But you will never find a better group of folks in your life, they are there for you to pray, answer questions, let you vent, to laugh, to cry,to be happy or sad with. They are 100%, and if you can reach out and help someone's day become just a little bit better, you end up helping yourself also. Hang in here, if you can. I know you will feel better about it soon. Take care, Lu
