Guest guest
Well day five has come and gone. It really does get easier every day. I stopped taking my prescription pain meds today, I did fine with tylenol but I will take one of the meds to sleep I think. Hopefully my sleep patern will get back to normal! I noticed that by this afternoon I was not dozing off every few hours so that is a good thing. I'm really alert finally. I may even venture out tomorrow for a drive to the store. I haven't been beyond my backyard yet. Now bordom sets in so I have to start to get creative. I usually have a really busy schedule and there is only so much I can do around the house. I don't think I'm up to cleaning th attic. Maybe next week. I've started to have some tongue problems, white coating and very sore. I've stepped up the saline rinses I think that will help. Once again I'm glad I had time to do so much research on this board ahead of time, the tongue problem is another example of something I learned from all of you. For those of you who are still pre op. take the time to go back and read a few months worth of posts. it is really worth it. I took notes as I went along so I would be prepared for alomost anything. so far I have not run into anything that has not been discussed on this boad. Sorry if I am rambling as I said bordom is setting in. Good night all. Marsha
Guest guest
Marsha, As the old Virginia Slims commercials (remember when they used to have cigarette commercials on TV?) used to say, " You've come a long way, baby! " Congratulations on getting off the pain meds and into a more normal sleep pattern. I think my recovery was speeded up because I didn't need the ongoing pain med support. The side effects of all of them just wasn't worth it for me. Since you're bored, you can always start playing any number of the online games that are available. My wife got me hooked on Noah's Ark over the past couple of weeks. Try this link. At least you won't be cleaning your attic! Guest guest
Hi Marsha! I am going to take your advice about going through the posts over the last couple months, I have browsed through a little but I really should take notes since it's so hard to remember everything! I am so glad your recovery seems to be going well ~ when I read your first message (post-op) about looking in the mirror for the first time, I cried! I could imagine my own reaction when I have my surgery in a couple months. Thanks for keeping us updated on your recovery, it really does help us pre-ops get an idea of what to expect and how to overcome various problems! > Well day five has come and gone.
