Someone suggested emptying the bowl before clearing the clog.

As this is sometimes helpful, I made a scoop from a half gallon plastic

milk bottle. I cut it into the shape of the scoop to fit the bowl and used

the handle on what used to be a milk container and used it to control the

scoop. It helps keep your hand out of the debris. don't forget to leave

the cap on the bottle!

Hello group,

Just reading your comments about low flow commodes and for anyone

contemplating changing commodes out, there is a commode on the market

that has an air bladder flush assist mechanism that this is very low

flow but sends the waster down the drain with a hard blast of air. I

just installed one in my in-laws home. It is such a strong flush that

we joke about it taking someone with it. We bought it at Lowes for

around $225.

I can second Jerry's comment on " strong flush " toilets. I learned about

them after we put the standard low flows in our new house. The bladder

flush units really work but do cost more.
