the mountains,...... just poof, it's gone... Can't sleep without MY pillow.

Hi Everyone,

Well now that the newsletter is out for the foundation and the wedding is done, I finally have a little more time. Sure wish I was going to Tulsa with all you guys because boy I need a vacation!!! But hey I haven't really conquered that flying fear yet.

Things here have been crazy. I don't think I've mentioned the fact that our neighbours installed an extremely loud air conditioner in-between the two houses that are only 10 feet apart. So for the past 6 weeks I've been sleep deprived. We have tried everything! We asked them politely and were told it was their home and their comfort so they could do what they want. The manager has told them at least 5 times to turn it off at night and the police have told them three times. But still the whirling drones on. And hey, we do live on the west coast of Canada where the nightly temperature only gets as high as 15 degrees, that's 60 degrees for all you other folk. I bet some of you in the east were wishing for 60 degrees right about now.

She says she is sick and needs the air conditioner for medical reasons, which is possible, but Why is she sitting inside with a sweet shirt on! I know that they still haven't confirmed what her problem is. Well I think she has a few mental ones. We aren't the only ones that get it around here that get it. They've thrown rocks at 's kids and say they swore at her. They complain about everyone and everything. They've sworn at my daughter and complained about her chalk drawings on the road. They have complained that we have more parking than they do after they turned half their parking into grass and decided to by a second car. I have no lawn because we need the space for parking and hey you don't have to mow gravel.

The problems all started after they found out how much we paid for our house, $500.00 yes that's right, they paid $19,000.00 for theirs. But it's not our fault that they paid too much. We've also had to put another $4,500.00 into ours and it is a completely different style of living. You see our little cottage is half travel trailer, so we also don't get taxed and when they found that out the war against us began. They even went to the Regional District to complain that we don't pay tax. Like get a life and get out of mine!!! Fortunately the trailer can't be taxed, but I may have to pay on the rest of the structure and taxes will only be about $50 to $100 a year. If the district decides that I am taxable then I will deffinately pay because that's what owning property is all about.

Anyhow this has really effected my health and I have had to take extra medication to help me sleep through the noise but it only works for a short time and then I'm groggy all day, but that could be from lack of sleep, I guess. My metho has been put up, my inner ear is flaring and my joints especially the tailbone, hurts like you wouldn't believe.

But hey there is GOOD NEWS! Yesterday in a last attempt to stop the noise, we changed the good neighbour fence we had, (because hey good neighbours we don't have) into a solid fence. She came out and started screaming at us and wanted to know if we had been to the regional district I guess she thought we need a building permit to work on an existing fence, not! We had already been to the district and I told her that and she called me a liar. She also tried to tell me I was on her property. Their trailer sits right at the edge of mine. She also said that the property line runs right through my house. Both the manager and the Tenants Association president have said that it starts at the edge of their trailer and there is a 2 foot common area for putting up ladders etc. Our fence sits 4 feet from their trailer, very much on our property. Yes I am getting to the GOOD NEWS part! Since the fence has been changed the noise has been cut in half and I actually got some sleep last night!!!! HURRAY! HURRAY! HURRAY!!! When we finish it I shouldn't be able to hear it at all!!!! At least I'll be able to sleep finally.I think I've been the only one, besides farmers, to be praying for rain in the summer, especially when I'm not working. Well guys sorry about the size of this email but thought it might make for some amusing reading. Plus really needed to vent. Hubby can't get the time off and the vacation money paid for the wedding. We need to have one on the west coast sometime. I think Oregon might be nice escpecially at zucchini time. Right Roy!!!
