Surgical Stabilizing Appliance...?

Anybody know what a surgical stabilizing appliance is? it's one of

the fees in my surgery overview info...and costs 900 bucks whatever

it is.

Maybe it's your surgeon's term for the surgical splint? (mine was

only used during the surgery) or is that mentioned by name elsewhere?
