Guest guest
Dear Group: Thanks to all who offered their experiences and suggestions about hospice. I think it is not for us at this time. That time will come no doubt, and will be a blessing. I had not heard of " transition " and do not know of any organizations around here, but I can look into that. What I need are aides who can lift him and transfer him etc--he spends most of the time in bed now, a small amount of time in the wheelchair en route to the room where his lift chair is. I have some aides for Sam, but there are hours when crises (or so they seem at the time) appear and there is no one here but me. I guess we will continue managing, as we have done in the past. We are very thankful that he has no pain, as I certainly go through some funny maneuvers when I " dump " him on the bed and so on.. Anyway, thanks a million to you all. Lou R.
