Guest guest
You didn't say that you were wired, so here goes: - mac & beef whizzed up slightly tastes pretty good to me - Yogurt - applesauce - corned beef brisket whizzed up with some broth & butter (otherwise it's too dry) - looks like cat food but it's awesome tasting (I put a bit of mustard on at the table) Even fish & chips can be done if you're not allowed to chew. I had some week 2 post-op in a restaurant. I put lots of malt vinegar on, pulled the batter back (didn't eat that part), put tartar sauce on, mashed some fish with a fork, and mushed it up against the top of my mouth. Same deal with the fries, lots of malt vinegar, some ketchup, then mashed them flat with a knife and mushed them up against the top of my mouth. Tasted great! I also gummed a pretzel stick to mush one night because I was so desperate. Saltines can be done the same way. Baby food can be done, but fresh is better. I bought some just in case, but ended up donating them to the local food bank. Sorry I don't have any more tips right now. These were my favourites. My husband did all the cooking, and he's normally pretty creative, so he tried all sorts of things out on me. My only complaint was that he wanted to perfect his soup recipes when I was wayyyyy ready to move on to chewing food! Hang in there, it won't last forever. Think of all of what you're eating as medicine, it's important. > Hey Guys and Gals, > I could use some advise right now. Apparently my creative abilities > are failing me. Guest guest
, Last week I posted an item about things to make the liquid diet better. It's post 78734, Top 10 no-chew diet suggestions, with apologies to Letterman, check it out. In addition to what I posted there, here's some ideas about actual foods to eat. 1. Refried beans and chile 2. Hamburger - drop it in the blender after it's been cooked, and use your favorite condiment to wet it down as you eat (catsup, bbq sauce, mustard, etc.) 3. BBQ Beef - cook beef chunks with BBQ sauce in the oven @ 320 for 3-4 hours (or in a crock pot as long as you dare), blenderize 4. Pot pies 5. Chicken - same as hamburger above 6. Canned soups 7. Baked potatoes - topped with lots of butter, bacon bits, cheese, etc. 8. Ravioli or stuffed shells - blenderize the pasta, then top with the sauce 9. Eggs fried sunny side up, or even soft boiled. 10. Oatmeal and Cream-O-Wheat Hope this helps! Dammit > Hey Guys and Gals, > I could use some advise right now. Guest guest
I'll add to this if you don't mind! 1. Fish any kind once cooked will flake apart. 2. Canned meats, tuna, chicken, salmon. 3. Avocados - Yum! 4. baked, or stewed apples 5. Anykind of veggies chopped small and cooked until soft. I'm sure I can think of more but you get the idea.
