Guest guest
Hey Irish! I guess it's about time I put up somewhat of a final pic now that I'm 2.5 weeks post op. The bruises have almost faded, and the swelling is only noticeable first thing in the AM. It's amazing at how many people tell me how different I look, but I can't see it myself. My bride complains I've lost my 'big cheeks' and that she can't tell if I'm mad anymore because I used to thrust my chin forward when I was, and it's constantly that way now! LOL... Anyway, glad to see you posting again and seeing that you're still active. Your advice and counsel helped prepare me as I was pre-op. Best wishes! Congrats again and continued good healing. > My bride complains I've lost my 'big cheeks' That's funny you say this ... I've been referred to as " Chipmunk Cheeks " , " Squirrel " , that sort of thing my entire life prior to surgery. When I recently attended a 10-year-reunion for folks I used to work with, I was over 1 year postop (and none of them knew of the surgery), I had someone tell me, " You lost your cheeks! " That caught me off guard. My face is certainly more slender now, I suppose, but the changes have been so gradual I hardly notice. > I used to thrust my chin > forward when I was, and it's constantly that way now! Ok, another thing that is strange. Wait until you eat your first ice cream cone ... I noticed this just this summer (somehow I didn't eat cones last year I guess). I kept getting the ice cream on my " new chin " as it was never there before (was receded and had a genio) and now it's in the way! It really is pretty funny. > Your advice and counsel helped prepare me as I was pre-op. Ok, thank you. I hope I was somewhat of a help and I am glad you are well on your way to having this over with. Take care! > Best wishes! And to you! Irish!
