Guest guest
Hello everybody out there! I am so happy to have found this support group. I feel very nervous and worried about my surgery. I am scheduled for July 20, 2004. I hope that there is somebody out there that can relate to my situation. My surgeon says that I can have the surgery without having to get the braces first. I feel really confused about this because both my regular dentist and an orthodontist that I consulted say that I must get the braces before I have the surgery. I should mention that I already had braces about 15 years ago I am now 31 and my teeth look pretty nice and straight but it is still noticeable that I have a cross bite. Is there anybody out there that has had the surgery first and got the braces after? Please let me hear about your experience. Thanks, mickey

Guest guest
Sorry about the empty post guys.........I have a bandage on my finger and messed up a bit. Hello Mickey, I did have the surgery before the surgery. But my surgery was done for sleep apnea. The doc put on some temporary braces for the surgery and used them to wire me shut. After healing from the surgery, I now have braces to " fine tune " the bite. Is it the best way to do it?? I guess you have to decide who you trust and go with what they say. I didn't have the time to do the braces first, so I didn't really have a choice. Good Luck with your decision and your surgery. a > Hello everybody out there! > I am so happy to have found this support group. I feel very nervous > and worried about my surgery.
