They wouldn't even let me try to decrease my pred until after 3 months.... I might be wrong on this...anyone else have any imput. Oh.. Chuck... the very first few weeks I took metho it did cause terrible migraine. I think Judy O had this problem too... but it did go away after my body adjusted... Remember, this is a pretty toxic drug and it takes time for our bodies to adjust to these changes... Well at least it did mine... LOL Good luck again. Guest guest
" if you have any info you care to share about the METHO... please send it too me....Chuck " Hi Chuck, I'm going into my 7th week of metho and still haven't noticed much of an improvement. About 2 wks ago, I increased my dosage from 7.5 to 10mg, so maybe there'll be some improvement soon. I have been taking folic acid (it's in my multivitamin) so I haven't experienced any kind of nausea that other people have complained about. Haven't noticed any hair falling out either. The only thing I notice is that I don't feel " right. " It's not exhaustion, nor is it a flaring or a mental/emotional thing (we just love our Prednisone, do we???). I wish I could tell you better, but I just don't feel like doing much of anything. The feeling isn't so overwhelming that I could point a finger to something and say, yes I'm absolutely tired, or I'm sore, etc, etc. I think that I may have put a lot of expectations on the metho. Entering my 6th week, which seems to be the " magic " number drs give when it comes to seeing any results of metho, I expected my breathing problems to go away, get my voice back, etc. Nothing really has happened yet. My stamina is about normal, but then again, we all have our good days and bad days and sometimes they're half days of good and bad. Who can tell? Some days I think I'm going to have a good day and I go to the gym or work and I'm having the worst time breathing. Some days I feel like I'm going to get beaten by life, and I go to the gym or work and I'm having a great day... Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that it's hard to tell with metho. Like people have been saying, everyone's different. I have noticed that my teeth hurt and it only started when I first started with metho. Please tell us if this happens to you. It's really annoying. I noticed that for most of today I got my voice back (albeit a rough and lower version), and it didn't sound strained or mechanical like it has been (except for a short time when I was outside trying to talk to my friend). I still have to pause for breath in btn sentences, and it sounded different, but a good different. I don't know what it's going to sound like tomorrow though. I start my next round of metho tomorrow, so who knows what the next 3 days will be like? Good luck to you Chuck and I hope you feel better. Take folic acid with your metho. Seems to be a good idea. ===== When choosing the lesser of two evils, I always like the one I haven't tried. -- Mae West __________________________________________________
