Guest guest
Dawn, All I know is you cannot get any live vaccine or be exposed to anyone who has received it. Sandy Hi group for those of you who knew diana joyner, i received an email from her today. Her dr. for some reason has decided that she no longer has Rp but is a diabetic?????? But she says she is feeling much better since being reated for the diabetic condition. So We can really hope this works for her. Also I have a question , I need to take a TB test for work, do any of you know if it will hurt anything with being on the metho, and pred. I have read somewhere that you should take anything or be exposed to any type of polio or TB vacine or anyone who has taken it. does anyone know anything about this. dawn
Guest guest
Dawn, tell your doctor about the test before they make you take it, he may provide you with documentation so you don't have to take it. the test is easy and painless, just a little bubble just under the skin, but i would be cautious being on the pred. and the mtho, which both reduce your immune system. from what i understand it's a live culture and they wait and see if you have a reaction to it to see if you have been exposed to TB.....hope this helps.......chuck

Good question!! I know while on metho we aren't suppose to be exposed to anyone who has had a polio vaccine for at least a week.... When I was on it... I ALWAYS asked before holding a baby...but guess we could be exposed in a grocery store... LOL Hope someone knows about the TB... now you have me wondering.. claudia

I work in a health care clinic and this is required yearly by Health Services. However, my doctor does NOT want me to take the risk of the test. I am on Methotrexate and Enbrel, both are injected drugs!!
