Guest guest
Greetings Anne! Do call your doctor, but it's probably nothing serious. SERIOUS headaches are common after a spinal tap. The recommendations to rest and drink plenty of water are usually helpful. Your doctor may have some suggestions. He should also follow you, as they can be indicative of other problems. But the most likely answer is a spinal headache. (Often occurs for women that want a spinal block while birthing.) Hope that helps. Regards, =jbf= B. Guest guest
Anne, If they used a contrast medium for the MRI, you could be reacting to that. If you are waking up with it, it could be eyesight related - like, you are experiencing eyestrain and you need glasses, or it could be die off. I was recently having a headache at the back of my neck and up - that was die off. I also had other flu-like symptoms, like waking up with tiredness and achiness. I took some milk thistle (from vitamin shoppe) a few times a day to support liver function (since liver is dealing with the toxins) and that helped. Definitely take epsom baths. You could also try ALA - that also supports liver function along with the milk thistle. Anyway, this is what worked for me. The good news is - that if it is die off - you'll feel better on the other side and have fewer symptoms. Also, on days you get die off, you should ease your antibacterial regime - don't take things like oil of oregano - etc, to ease your symptoms. Guest guest
The main cause of my low-grade headaches is dehydration. Usually drinking a glass or two of water helps immediately. I wake up with a low-grade headache every morning that disappears as soon as I drink a glass of water, which is the first thing I reach for when I get out of bed. This is what I usually suspect first when I get a headache, so I try to be sure to drink a bunch of water. Sometimes it seems related to dehydration, sometimes it doesn't. Another common headache trigger for me are fragrances from soaps, lotions, perfumes. Have you begun using a new hand lotion or laundry detergent? Some new product being used in your house? Consider candles too. I actually just recently swore off all personal care products (except toothpaste!) so I'm probably getting MUCH LESS fragrance. That might be something that triggered die off though, all those chemicals leaving my body? I also get low-grade headaches as a food reaction, particularly to a preservative and/or additive. Since being on SCD, when I eliminated all convenience foods and therefore preservatives, this only happens now after I've had a meal at a restaurant. But you just tried FCLO, correct? Did the headache occur within 12 hours of your dose? That is stretching the food reaction, but it might be connected...I actually woke up with the headache and took the FCLO later that day, so probably not it. My best guess at this point is die off. Thanks for your ideas though!! Peace =)Alyssa 15 yoUC April 2008, dx Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)Chinese Herbs (not legal but helping!)
