Guest guest
" My headaches and saw jaw are driving me nuts!! I am going to the dentist later this month, so hopefully I can get something figured out. " le, I'm sorry to hear that you're not doing great with the TMJ thing. I've been aware of my TMJ for at least 15 years but it hasn't been that bad. I occasionally have headaches in the morning and aside from the inside mouth chewings, there hasn't been any big problems. Or maybe I'm used to it. I would hate for the RP to make this worse. When I find myself nr a sports store, like said, I might stop in to pick up a mouth guard just to save money. Thanks for asking about me. Aside from trying to make it to TX for my husband's bereaved grandfather and trying to schedule stent placement before the trip, everything is hunky dorey! Last Sunday I made it to the gym--a first in the last 3 wks--and had a good workout, i.e., didn't go into resp. I'm getting lazy (and using RP as an excuse on some of these missed days) and enjoying going directly home after work instead of extending my day away from home another 1-2 hrs... BTW, does anyone know if sitting in the jacuzzi is bad for RP or diabetes? I don't have RA. I'm tempted to go, but I keep forgetting to ask my dr. if it's ok. I use the sauna because my ENT thought it might help with my breathing problems (it doesn't), but it helps just sit there and veg. The steam doesn't help my funny sounding cough (I feel self-conscious about it), it sounds like a barking kind of cough. (I think of the sea lions over at the wharf in SF whenever I have to cough.) " until i take the Pred. afterwards, my calfs feel like they have lead in them and my joints hurt like crazy even just to walk is sometimes a task.... " Chuck, good news: this feeling may not be from RP after all! When you take high doses of Prednisone (you're taking 80mg a day, right?) it tends to make your joints swell. It happened to me when I was up to 80mgs and the swelling didn't go away until I tapered down to around 40mg. Hang in there! Lillian, I don't know you but I'm very happy for you! Congrats! ===== When choosing the lesser of two evils, I always like the one I haven't tried. -- Mae West __________________________________________________
Guest guest
“PS: and others: do you know why this happens? What do you do to help the ache?” Sorry guys. Lack of sleep. I was up till about 2am the other night, reading and replying to posts, so I have to apologize that I didn't make myself clear in my message (above). I was talking about the sensitive teeth. It really bugs me because it seems like everything I drink, from room temp and cooler, really hurts my teeth. It's summer time, I should be able to drink something cool once in awhile... “ I also have prednisone induced diabetes. When I am tapering pred I taper my diabetes meds, when I am on 4 mg like now I only take metformin. When I go up I take a sulfonurea as well, I check my bs levels regularly and try to keep under180 which I can do at the moment, at higher levels of pred it is harder.” Liz, My PCP told me I could get off insulin now that I'm tapering off Pred (now at 30mg), so he prescribed Precose. I was on it for a little over a day when I went to see my rheum. and had that breathing episode. Since the only thing different I did was change from insulin to precose, he immediately put me back on insulin, just to be safe. I did notice that in the short time I was on precose, my blood sugar levels were pretty decent. I want to get off insulin and don't think I need it. My OB-GYN put me on it last March when I was trying to get pregnant (fulltime, rather than off/on again) because it was safer for the fetus. Now that I'm not trying, I don't think I need to be on insulin (PCP agrees) and I'm on such a low dose anyway. My bs is normal at fasting. I'm going to ask my rheum. if I can go back to precose since my breathing feels like it's stabilized and I understand now that it can be brought on by stress or anxiety. ===== When choosing the lesser of two evils, I always like the one I haven't tried. -- Mae West __________________________________________________

(I think > of the sea lions over at the wharf in SF whenever > I have to cough.) , My husband is diabetic, and lives in our hot-tub. He put one out on the patio years ago. He just loves it. He will sit in their for hours if I let him. He started trying to get me to use it as well, but I, (and I am not kidding), get sea-sick. Go figure, and I love the water! I can sit in there for maybe 5 mins, then I have to rush out, or I will get sick. I know what you mean when you said your cough sounds like a sea lions bark, as I get told them all the time, I just laugh it off now, but the first time someone said that, mind you, I didn't laugh one bit! When you get your stent put in, let us know how it goes, post the night before, so we can say a prayer for you I am sorry about your husband's grandma, it is so hard to loose someone you love, and I am sure he is also very worried about you as well. I am jealous! You went to the gym, I just love to weighlift.(sigh) Just love it, but my joints just can't do it anymore. I am thinking of trying yoga. My mother used to take me when I was a wee baby, but at that point, I just wanted to run around and tickle everyone! Needless to say I was banned after one day there! LOL But, I figured if the yoga went well, then I could move to aerobics. How's your day going? Hope you are having a good day, and feeling well. le

I do take B 100 complex, but not on a reg basis because when I was on it regularly it sent me into a flare... It is also a great diuretic. LOL I have numbness in my hands and feet and a really sore tongue... This was the vitamin deficientcy... My B-12 came back normal... Wonder if lack of vitamins could cause the lipomas??? Who knows.... I WILL take the B -6 and see what happens... What could it hurt... Thanks for the info.. Glad to have you back..... Counting days til I can give you a BIG hug.... love ya
