Occlusal adjustment? Dental Insurance

Has anybody had their surgery covered by dental and not medical?

Going through my " Health Care Plan " of my employer, " treatment of

malocclusion is specifically excluded, " which I was ultimately denied

coverage for surgery 3 times, but going through the DENTAL " covered "

procedures, it says that " occlusal adjustment " is covered. What is

the difference between " treatment of maloccusion " and " occlusal

adjustment? " I look up the definition of both and I believe it means

the same thing. Any help would be appreciated. I am trying to find

a way to get my surgery covered and am nitpicking through everything

to find a way. Thanks.

For what it's worth, my dental insurance paid what it provides on the

braces -- I would take that to be " occlusal adjustment. "

my MEDICAL insurance covered the surgery, not because it had anything

to do with malocclusion, but as " correction of a congenital, skeletal

malformation. "
