Ralph is back in the hospital, they are starting him on Ridalin.

They are trying that to help raise blood pressure for his

ShyDrager. Does anyone have any knowledge of this? The insurance

has approved for a electric wheel chair. It has been a rough

summer. My mom fell last week due to bleeding in the brain. Not

sure what is causing it, she is 85. She is doing better, they have

released her to the local nursing home for rehabilation for two

weeks and then back to her house. Never a dull moment. Hope

everyone is doing ok. You guys are in my thoughts and prayers.

Take Care! I have been bouncing quite a bit, so hopefully when I

can get things calmed down a bit, I will be on more. I have some

good news, is engaged and I am going to be a grandmother.

Ralph and I are so tickled! Write more later. Shirley

Shirley,

Some people have had good luck with Ritalin, although it is usually used for

alertness and energy, not to raise blood pressure, although that can be a

side effect. The drugs most often used to raise blood pressure are florinef

and midodrine, along with lots of salt.

Congratulations on the engagement and the coming new grandchild. It is

these happy events that keep us all going.

Shirley,

Congratulations on being an almost grandma.

My dad has taken 7.5 mg of Ritalin, 5 in the morning and 2.5 at noon for two

years. It was given to him to keep him alert. It has been a good drug for him

and his blood pressure has remained stable. His doctor at Barrows in Phoenix

has told us that the Ritalin has made a huge difference in his condition.

Hope the same happens for Ralph.
