Guest guest
Thanks Pam, They have him on IV fluids, etc. They are trying another medication to help raise it. He has been in there a week now. Also trying to get his Aterial Fib calmed down. Do you know anything about AF or know of anyone on the list that is dealing with it as one of the symptons of ShyDrager? Thanks a bunch! Leaving for the hospital. Check back later! Guest guest
I see now why they are having such a problem with controlling his blood pressure. His heart fibrillations would also be affecting it. I don't have any advice for you on this one. I'm sure they have their best heart doctor on the case and they'll get him straightened out soon. Guest guest
AtriaI fib. I haven't been formally diagnosed with MSA but I have parkinsonism with Parkinson's plus syndrome. I have atrial fib. every once in a while, but I take Atenolol to control it. I have a constant cardiac arrhthymia. One doctor prescribed Seroquel to help me sleep, and my heart's irregularities tripled. When I told the doctor he freaked out, and called my cardiologist;now I have to see him. The reason the Seroquel was so bad, I found out by reading " The Pill Book " is that it can cause permanent electrical changes to the heart, among a lot of other problems for a cardiac patient. Is Seroquel being used? Research all the common to rare side effects with drugs. Luckily my heart went back into rhythm--but it took about a week. Also, keep him away from caffeine and sugar;you might already know all this--just adding my experiences. It's bad enough to have PD+, but a heart condition too is a lot to handle. One thing--Atenolol lowers blood pressure, so another beta-blocker might better control his atrial fib. Best wishes, Nan Pam (Aterial Fib) > Thanks Pam, > > They have him on IV fluids, etc. They are trying another medication > to help raise it. He has been in there a week now. Guest guest
Shirley & Pam, Maybe the attached patient information will help with understanding atrial fib. When I was calling on doctors, one of the main medications I promoted to cardiologists was for atrial fib. I will not include the name because this condition has to be treated on an individualized treatment bases. Each patients' reaction to an antiarrhythmic is different. Guest guest
Hi. Not necessarily Shydrager, Don't know what. I developed Atrial Flutter and Fibrilation which went on for years 180 - 200+. Responded to IV anticoagulant and IV amiodarone. over about a week. It returned almost immediately on Amiodarone tablets. Finally had RF (Radio Frequency) Ablation. Slide a catheter into the heart chamber, find a node from where a spurious signal is originating, then with another catheter, zap an area around the node to burn the path taken by the signal that triggers the heart to the extra beats. Worked OK for me. My pulse rate is now a steady +/_ 60 pbm Regards from Bill P. bpilgrim@... -- Pam (Aterial Fib) Thanks Pam,They have him on IV fluids, etc. They are trying another medication to help raise it.
