Guest guest
Vikki: Like you I had a bone graft and I can report just a few minor problems with discomfort. The only problems I can remember was the feeling of a " pulled muscle " getting into and out of the hospital bed and climbing stairs the first few days after surgery. Though be on the lookout for the incision inducing a need to scratch. About 10-14 days after the surgery, I had the most powerful urge to scratch my incision. I asked the OS on my next appointment, and he said it was the chemical they put on my skin before they made the incision on my hip. But within a couple of days, the feeling went away. I am now 19 weeks post-op and have no problems with my bone graft. The OS said just keep the scar out of the sun and that is easily done. Good Luck. Kev. Guest guest
: Its so weird that this little scar can cause so much discomfort! To me, it feels like I have a charlie horse all down my right leg. I don't have any stairs to climb, thankfully, but i know what you mean when you say its hard to get in and out of bed. Luckily, I haven't had much of an urge to scratch it. I don't know if you are putting anything on it, but i sugggest JoJoba Oil. I got it at Whole Foods, but Im sure you can get it at any health care type of store. Its great for taking care of scars. I am only 7 days post op, and i can already see a difference in the scar. My surgon said its ok to use also. You said you are 19 weeks post op? do you still have any problems with your jaw or are you completely healed?
