Hey,

I know that all of this is so difficult. Before surgery one side of my bottom

jaw was longer than the other, causing my chin, teeth, and everything else to be

off-center. Post-op now, it is still not perfect. I had even thought of having

another surgery. No one else notices it, though. And my OS and OD said that it

is about as close as they can get it with surgery. So, I am now getting used to

the idea. Of course, my situation is different from yours. Mine was off prior

to surgery.

I do think you got some wonderful responses here; however, I do want to add one

thing. You may not notice, but if you were on center before, and now are

suddenly off, it may be swelling. It is completely possible for swelling to go

down on one side before the other causing everything to look off. I do not know

if this is the case, but it is something that may be going on.

Try not to worry too much (I know... not worry? I need to get that advice

myself :) You really need to see what your OS and OD says first. You have so

much going on, don't take on more problems when you don't know for sure the

cause yet.

Good luck, and I'll be routing for you from my corner of the world.

Cathy, thanks for your kind note. yes, i was centered before and seem

not to be now. I understand what you are saying about swelling going

done unevenly, i was/am hoping for that. I am pretty sure it's off

though, as i put my two index fingers on the bone on either side of

my " new chin " and they really don't line up with nose or eyes. I

know it's possible my nose is off due to swelling and pulling, as a

matter of fact, i think that is true. but the eyes and the trachea

(windpipe, whatever) is something i am trying to gague it against.

Everyone is right.....wait to talk to the doctors about it and then

report back. thanks for your routing! I appreciate it a lot.
