Guest guest
I posted this earlier but i think it got lost in the clutter. What kind of speech problems have people encountered? I'm 12 days post-op and it's difficult to speak clearly - which is obviously a problem at work, where a lot of conversations occur on the phone. How long did people have speech problems? My swelling is well over halfway down from its peak but the speaking is still a problem. I sound very nasal and sometimes it is hard to enunciate. When will it go away????? Guest guest
Amen to that! I am 24 days post op and I still have speech problems (the kind you describe). As to when it will go away, your guess is as good as mine. Luke > I posted this earlier but i think it got lost in the clutter. What > kind of speech problems have people encountered? Guest guest
If I remember it was at about week 6 that I sounded normal. It will slowly improve. Re: i want to talk normally again! Amen to that! Guest guest
--- My speech at post op day 19 sounds fairly good. I thought I would be mumbling. I have a few sounds that are off but everyone understands me. I was told usu by week 6 to 3 months. Also my OS determines whether he thinks you need speech therapy afterwards. Thank goodness he didn't think I needed it. I ask your OS for his/her opinion. I'm sure your speech will slowly get better with time. Also, I'm more self conscious of those sounds that sound bad to me but others have no problem understanding or they don't really think the sounds sound awful. So maybe its not as bad as you think, ask your coworkers what they think. In orthognathicsurgerysupport , stagerjr02 wrote: > I posted this earlier but i think it got lost in the clutter.
