Guest guest
, you say one of your front teeth is behind the other? Did your ortho say exactly how he can fix that because i seem to have a similar problem. One of my front teeth is up higher than the other creating a " one tooth longer than the other " look and it aint cute. lol! and i also have the broken top wire between the front teeth. The ortho is to replace it when i see him next week. The surgeon needed to cut it in order to move around the the two pieces of my top jaw (or so he told me) he used a thin piece of wire to hold teh two front brackets together. Oh and how long post-op are you? Ill be seven weeks tomorrow. Boy has time flown?! -Krystal > I was feeling a little " pokey pokey " here and there and after a day > of A LOT of talking i took a real close inspection, my upper wire is > split in two, right between my two front teeth. i think this may have > been this way for a while, perhaps even after surgery 4 weeks ago, as > one front tooth is a little behind the other. i was wondering how > that could have been such a dramatic move during surgery, but now i > am nervous about seeing my ortho tomorrow on an emergency basis. Guest guest
Hey Krystal, I am 4.5 weeks post op. I will have to ask my OS if he cut the wire, as i am sure, now that i inspected it over the weekend, that it indeed has been broken since the surgery. Once of the first things i noticed when i looked at my face the day after surgery in the hospital mirror, was that one front tooth was tilted and a little behind the other. Odd, not correct, but i figured ORtho could fix it. Indeed he can. I went to ortho today and he did not want to replace the wire without talking to the OS, who was out of the office today. So the ortho wired them together. Perhaps mine were by the OS during surgery if he cut them, but 4 days out of the hosp and i had to to in to get a wire cut out as it was cutting up my upper lip. i wonder if that was the wire! Anyway, i see surgeon tomorrow and i will ask about this. > > I was feeling a little " pokey pokey " here and there and after a > day > > of A LOT of talking i took a real close inspection, my upper wire > is > > split in two, right between my two front teeth. i think this may > have > > been this way for a while, perhaps even after surgery 4 weeks ago, > as > > one front tooth is a little behind the other. i was wondering how > > that could have been such a dramatic move during surgery, but now > i > > am nervous about seeing my ortho tomorrow on an emergency basis.
